Do You Abandon Your Goals Before You Reach them Because Its Too Difficult?

1/3/2019 4:35:44 PM   |   Comments: 0   |   Views: 13

This is a topic many people don't want to talk about.

You made an agreement with yourself to get to the bottom of what is holding you back in your personal and/or professional life. You spent time doing research to find the best person to assist you to find the cause of being stuck. You made it past the love-it-or-leave-it period. You like the person you are working with. You’re seeing results that are helping but, you also see that there is some difficult hurdles to face-head-on. You contemplate ending the process even though you know you haven't reached the place you truly desire--feeling empowered with happiness and peace of mind.

You call your practitioner to tell him/her you are quitting. And then the unexpected stops your well rehearsed reason for quitting. "I don't have time, things at work and home are demanding more of my time."

Me: Thank you for telling me you are considering quitting. I understand. The truth is you have reached a point when the transformation is bringing stuff into the open and you can no longer avoid knowing what has held you back. It can seem a little overwhelming. This is common for many people. And it is a fruitful place to be.

You: How can it be fruitful? I am feeling that the more we discover the old stuff and distress, the more there will be. Sort of... never ending.

Me: It is in the rough spots that you learn the most. Keeping this in mind, I will assist you to feel less alone, because you are not the only one who feels 'The Squeeze.' There are many energy forces and changes pulsing through the Universe at every level. It goes without, saying, you are part of the growing process and the growing pains.

You: How long will it  take?

Me: I understand your dilemma. Let's talk about ways to make the processes easier. It is difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I know precisely what you need to do to get there. Each time you delve into the cause of what's holding you back, I notice progress. From this moment forward, I will point out your progress. You know me well enough now that you know I won't tell you something just so you will feel better.

Stumbling at the sight of roadblocks or a steep hill isn't a problem. Giving up on yourself and quitting is telling yourself you aren't good enough to go the distance. And telling yourself you aren't good enough is what you probably heard too often when you were growing up.

You: I know, but.....

Me: If you need to change your appointment periodically that is possible. As you recall unless it is an emergency you need to give me a 12 hour notice.

You: Thanks. What do I do with the feeling that it will get worse before I get to the end?

Me: I can assist you in dealing with what you might consider the worst. There are many strategies I can give you to help you through any rough spots. You need to tell me when you feel overwhelmed or the going is difficult.

You: How long will it take to reach my goal?

Me:  When you reach your goal, you will look back and realize you wasted several years struggling and time spent putting your efforts on an empowered track is only a fraction of the time you have already struggled and would continue to struggle with if you stopped now.  So, the time is relative.  And the time will go faster when you lean into it, knowing you will achieve your goal, because you will have all the information and tools you need.

You: Can I hold you to that?

Me: Yes.  I know no matter how difficult the journey might seem everyone can transform all the issues that have held them back for too long. You can transform and move forward. Which reminds me of this poem, ~Author unknown
